The Wendy Morris band performs original, contemporary, easy listening songs, penned by singer songwriter Wendy Morris. The band also throws in a few tasteful covers tailored to the occasion, using the vocal skills of all band members to create lots of harmonies.
Wendy's latest album Entangled offers plenty of variety, with pop, folk, country, rock, jazz and reggae influences. The songs are melodic, harmonious and even the sad songs are uplifting. With lyrics that speak to everyone, the songs have been described as magical, inspirational and hauntingly beautiful.
The album was produced, engineered and mastered at Manuka Studios in Orewa by Mike McCarthy. Wendy says that it was a very positive experience working there. She was encouraged by the support she received from the musicians and others that assisted with the project, such as Graham Brazier from Hello Sailor fame and internationally recognised drummer Bruce Morley.
Wendy’s music video ‘No one’s gonna see me cry’ by NZ film maker Darcy Gladwin was filmed in Whangaparaoa and Puhoi and features Wendy driving a classic Ford Capri with the local scenery as a backdrop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twVuw1pVsEs
